Vehicle Monitoring
Vehicle Monitoring provides periodic detailed car checks on the following elements:
- Tire pressure.(our team put the tires at the correct tire pressure)
- Tire condition: tire wear, tire damages, presence of winter or summer tires
- Windshield: presence of stars or bruises
- Body work: all visible damages
- General condition of the vehicle
What for?
Studies have proved that the tire pressure of 80% of the company cars is not at the right level and end of lease charges due to non reported damages by the driver increase yearly (Renta figures).
Through regular Vehicle Monitorings we aim to optimize the condition of the car in order to increase safety, reduce CO2 emissions and realize savings. Additionally it will sensibilize and stimulate your drivers to pay more attention to keep their company car in good condition.
This service provides a 360° view of the entire fleet in all its aspects, without any intervention of the driver.
Impact on environment, safety and savings?
- By keeping the tires at the right pressure, one can save up to 5% in fuel consumption
- The right tire pressure ensures a better adhesion to the road surface and prolongs the tire lifetime
- Insufficient tire pressure (as of 0.5 barr missing) increases with 10% the braking distance until standstill
- Insufficient tire pressure with more than 1 barr missing increases the risk of an exploding tire with more than 80%
- A star or bruise in the windshield endangers the optimal functioning of the airbag
This information results from different independent studies and the outcome of the results of Vehicle Monitorings performed by Fleet&DriverCare (more than 6.000 cars).
Additional information
- Due to increasing kilometers between service intervals less service checks are performed by expert professionals. Furthermore, these experts only check cars from their specific point of view, e.g. a dealer only performs car maintenance and, no tire check. This results in a non optimal condition of the car impacting the safety and the cost of the car.
- Independent studies demonstrate that approximately 80% of the cars drive around with inappropriate tire pressure and 1 out of 5 with tires in bad or very bad condition. The Fleet&DriverCare experience (more than 6.000 cars checked) shows similar results
- More than 83% of the cars didn’t have the right tire pressure.
- 15% of the cars showed insufficient tire profile.
- With 16% of the cars considerable damage was reported (bodywork and windshields)
